Thermal and hydrodynamic analysis of non-Newtonian nanofluid in wavy microchannel

Summary: The study investigates the hydrodynamic and heat transfer behavior of non-Newtonian nanofluid in a wavy microchannel with rectangular obstacles. By adding aluminum oxide nanoparticles of different sizes and volume fractions to pure water, the effects of different rib heights, Reynolds numbers, and friction factors on heat transfer performance were studied. Results showed that increasing the volume fraction of Al2O3 nanoparticles increased the average Nusselt number, and the case with the highest obstacle height exhibited the largest friction factor value.
