Herein, blue-red synchronous emitting Ba3MgSi2O8:Eu2+, Mn2+ nanocrystals matched well the photosynthetic action spectrum (PAS) of plant chlorophylls was fabricated on green emitting Sr2SiO4:Eu2+ emitter covered entirely the photopic vision function (PVF) of human eyes, to construct Sr2SiO4:Eu2+-Ba3MgSi2O8: Eu2+, Mn2+ dual-responsive composite phosphor. The micro-structure and blue-green-red tri-bands photoluminescence for the obtained composite phosphor were investigated in detail. White light emission with excellent dual-response characters to PAS of plant chlorophylls and PVF of human eyes was obtained, indicating the potential applications in both of general lighting and plant lighting.
