Multiple inducers and novel roles of autoantibodies against the obligatory NMDAR subunit NR1: a translational study from chronic life stress to brain injury

Hong Pan et al.

Summary: This study reveals details about the circulating autoantibody response, including the formation and fluctuation of NMDAR1-AB in serum, the impact of genetic predisposition and chronic life stress on autoantibody generation. The research also found that under compromised blood-brain barrier conditions, NMDAR1-AB can mitigate stress-induced depressive-like behavior in mice and symptoms of depression/anxiety in humans.
