Hyperfocus: the forgotten frontier of attention

Brandon K. Ashinoff et al.

Summary: Hyperfocus is a phenomenon where individuals are completely absorbed in a task, often seen in clinical populations like autism, schizophrenia, and ADHD. Despite its importance in cognition, research on hyperfocus is limited, with challenges in defining and measuring it. This paper reviews existing definitions, challenges in research, and provides constructive criticism to improve future studies on hyperfocus.
