This work studied the performance of nickel supported on Al2O3 and CexZr1 -aEuroexO2/Al2O3 (x = 1.0 and 0.5) catalysts for steam reforming of liquid petroleum gas. Ni/CeO2/Al2O3 and Ni/CeZrO2/Al2O3 exhibited higher stability. In situ XRD, XANES and EXAFS experiments revealed that carbon formation was the main cause for catalyst deactivation.
