An effective and stable bifunctional Ni2P/TiO2 catalyst was proposed for gas-phase hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate to corresponding alcohols. A 93.0% conversion of DMO with a selectivity of 88.0% to methyl glycolate was observed under 210 degrees C. Moreover, the catalyst showed an excellent stability which can be performed for 3600 h under the reaction conditions of 230 degrees C, 3 MPa H-2 and the weight space velocity of 0.1 h(-1).
