This study presents a simple design for micromixers based on the concept of cantor fractal structures. This fractal structure is composed of different shapes of mixing units for folding and chaotic advection in fluid flow. Three designs known as YSUSAR, YTUSAR, and YSTUSAR are analyzed and characterized by concentration, velocity contours, line plots of Reynolds number versus mixing index, and the Reynolds number against pressure drop. The designs are fabricated on glass by a 3D multi-head printing system and tested experimentally for mixing performance. The results demonstrate that YSUSAR has a better mixing performance than the other two proposed designs.
