Condensation polymerization was used to prepare phosphorus-containing polyaniline (FR-PANI) constructed with conjugative structure whose chemical constitution, morphology and volume resistivity were studied in this work. After being combined with epoxy resin (EP) (denoted as EP/FR-PANI or EP/PANI), the composite's electrical conductivity, flame retardancy and thermal stability were evaluated. The volume resistivity of the EP composite was reduced by importing the FR-PANI. The limiting oxygen index values reached 30.8% for the EP/4 wt% FR-PANI composite and obtained a V-0 rating in the vertical burning test. The thermal stability of the EP composite was improved by increasing the char yield for pure EP from 14.6 to 20.1%. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
