In this paper, petroleum pitch-based GO was obtained by using petroleum pitch as carbon source, and Ni&NiO was prepared by reducing of NiSO4 center dot 6H(2)O. Then, Ni&NiO/GO was prepared by in situ loading Ni&NiO on GO surface using coprecipitation method. Performance of photocatalytic fixation of nitrogen to ammonia with Ni&NiO/GO composite was also investigated while characterizing the structure of the material. The results show that the Ni&NiO/GO composite has high activity oxygen vacancy, and can generate synergy effect between Ni&NiO and GO. The Ni&NiO/GO catalyst not only has higher ability of the adsorption and activation N-2 than Ni&NiO, but also the composite can be excited by visible light to generate more photogenerated carriers, and the transport rate of carriers can be accelerated, which increases the ability of separating photogenerated electrons and holes. The NH4+ yield reached 1637.6 mu mol/L.g cat after 4 h. At the same time, the catalyst had excellent stability, and the NH4+ yield remained substantially unchanged in the 5 cycle experiments.
