The nanocrystalline Ni coating was prepared by area-selective electrodeposition by droplet contact, and the microstructure and properties of the coating were studied. The performance and surface morphology of the coating are determined by changes in the current parameters. As the current increases, the surface of the coating gradually becomes a granular nano-grain group, and the microhardness of the coating surface also rises to varying degrees. By X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis, the Ni coating was oxidized to a certain extent after exposure to air, thereby forming a passivation film. The droplet contact angle test proves that the granular structure of the coating surface is hydrophobic, and the surface particle size and hydrophobicity increase with the increase of the current parameter. Meanwhile, the electrochemical test result shows that the superhydrophobic coating has great corrosion resistance. (c) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
