We report a passively Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser at 1341.5 nm by using few-layer Platinum diselenide (PtSe2) as the saturable absorber (SA). The nonlinear saturable absorption properties of the PtSe2 at 1.3 mu m were measured, showing a modulation depth of 7% and a saturation intensity of 25 GW/cm(2), respectively. The maximum Q-switched pulse average power was 209 mW under the absorbed pump power of 3.62 W. The shortest pulse duration and the highest pulse repetition rate was 775 ns and 103.5 kHz, respectively. The instability (output powers, rms) of the Q-switched pulse was measured to be about 0.63% for one hour. The results indicated that the PtSe2 have a good performance as a potential SA in the 1.3 mu m spectral range.
