The traditional pedagogical paradigm in physics is based on a deductive approach. However, with the recent advances in information technology, we are facing a dramatic increase in the amount of readily available information. We propose that incorporating inductive elements in teaching-by infusing qualitative methods-will better prepare us to deal with the new information landscape and the realities of active research. We also presentexamples from quantum mechanics, a traditionally unintuitive subject.
