MXenes, as a novel family of two-dimensional metal carbides/nitrides, have attracted enormous attention in many fields including polymer composite materials. However, the melt-dripping phenomenon in most polymer matrices great limits the application of polymer composites. So far, the anti-dripping performance of polymer/MXene composites has rarely been reported. Herein, the potential of MXene on improving the anti-dripping performance of polymers was firstly explored based on three different polymer/MXene composites prepared via solution blending and dip-coating, respectively. The results showed that MXene endowed the polymer matrices with excellent anti-dripping performance and thermal stability. Corresponding mechanism for anti-dripping performance of polymer/MXene composites was investigated deeply. This work will open the door of MXene in polymer composites toward remarkable anti-dripping performance, which can broaden the application of MXene in polymer composites greatly.
