The SCR of NO by propene on coconut shell activated carbon CS(AC) supported with Fe has been undertaken in heated temperature programmed fixed bed vertical column reactor in simulated flue gas atmosphere at 100-550 degrees C. Catalysts were characterized by N-2 adsorption-desorption, ICP, XRD, TEM, XPS, H-2-TPR, Py-FTIR and NO-TPD. Series of experiments demonstrated that 10 Fe-CS(AC) showed 95% NO reduction at 350 degrees C. During the tests, different loadings of iron have a significant effect on acid sites, surface area and pore sizes, effects of O-2,O- SO2, and H2O were investigated. The curves of the H-2-TPR shows that there is a strong reduction activity of the catalyst at about 600 degrees C, which is caused by the strong reduction performance of Fe2O3. The analysis of Py-FTIR results defines the presence of Lewis and Bronsted acids on the surface of the catalyst. At the higher temperature range, the reduction properties of 10 Fe-CS(AC) demonstrated better results than other catalysts.
