In this paper, the Newton's method is proposed for solving the tensor equation X*X-N = A. This algorithm contains only tensor computations without matricizations. The locally quadratic convergence is given. Finally, some numerical examples show that the new method is feasible. (C) 2019 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
