A novel polysiloxane-based fluorescent schiff base for the detection of ferroptosis process was fabricated for the first time. The polysiloxane-based schiff base (P1) can selectively penetrate into apoptosis cells and exhibits sensitive response to Fe3+ in a ratiometric manner. Notably, P1 possessed significant advantages including the selectively penetration and the superior fluorescent properties, and has been applied for in situ monitoring the cell ferroptosis process for the first time. Hence, such versatile polysiloxane-based Schiff base that showed effective response and bioimaging functions may have prospective applications in bioscience.
