ZnO is a unique semiconductor that used for various applications. The preparation method, crystal morphology and particle size have important role in its physical properties. This article reviews the structural, morphology and optical properties of zinc oxide nanostructures grown up by different synthesis methods. The effect of adding various impurities which categorized by periodic table groups, on its structural and optical properties have been studied.
