Summary: This paper investigates advanced methods for predicting the bearing capacity of concrete-filled steel tube columns, comparing the results of a GEP-based tree equation with a hybrid model of PSO-ANN. The study demonstrates that GEP provides higher performance compared to PSO-ANN. In the optimization phase, the implementation of the whale optimization algorithm significantly maximizes the bearing capacity of CFST columns.

Summary: This study developed a deep neural network (DNN) model to predict flyrock induced by blasting, which showed a significant increase in prediction accuracy compared to an artificial neural network (ANN) model. The DNN model, optimized using the whale optimization algorithm (WOA), successfully minimized flyrock resulting from blasting and provided a suitable pattern for blasting operations in mines.
