In this study, it is purposed to examine the effect of some cooling conditions on the machinability which may be an alternative to conventional cooling. For this purpose, experiments were conducted. During these experiments, dry, minimum quantity lubrication, nanofluids, cryogenic cooling and combinations with these cooling methods were preferred as cooling method. For nanofluids, hBN and Al2O3 were used as additives while LN2 was preferred for cryogenic cooling. Tool wear, tool-chip interface temperature and surface roughness were selected as evaluation characteristics. The experiment results showed that 0.5 vol% hBN cooling method used in conjunction with liquid nitrogen gave the best results in terms of machining performance.
