In this small review article, we provide an overview of the different self-assembled systems and materials created so far by rationally organizing fluorosubphthalocyanines in a non-centrosymmetric fashion, which allows access to novel polarly ordered liquid crystalline materials that can be aligned in the presence of electric fields and that exhibit permanent or switchable (i.e. ferroelectric) polarization.
