The article presents a numerical investigation of separation effect for the mixture of noble gases in a plane channel with a system of differently heated cylindrical filaments. The separation performance for various geometric configurations and Knudsen numbers is studied through event-driven molecular dynamics method (EDMD). A detailed physical explanation of the separation mechanism in such a device is provided based on the obtained results. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
