Bi-Fe-O amorphous nanoparticles were synthesized via a facile sol-gel method using tartaric acid as the chelating agent. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and UV-vis. Photocatalysis of Bi-Fe-O amorphous nanoparticles was further examined by monitoring the degradation of Rhodamine B dye in an aqueous solution under visible light irradiation with H2O2. It was proved that Bi-Fe-O amorphous nanoparticles showed higher degradation rate under visible-light irradiation with H2O2 than without H2O2.
