Pseudocapacitive behavior can enhance kinetics of metal-ion intercalation in most layered materials. In this issue of Chem, Dong et al. report that a unique guest-host chemical interaction offers a new type of intercalation pseudocapacitance that delivers ultra-fast and durable NH4+ storage in an aqueous electrolyte.
