Contactless identification systems are mainly used in industry and trade for efficient and rapid identification of objects. In the railway sector, this technology can be applied to monitor the technical state of pressure brakes and bearing chambers of the wheel set.
Contactless identification systems are currently applied mainly in the industry and trade sectors. The main reasons for introducing these systems include the non-contact nature of the technology, which does not require direct visibility, precise positioning, high efficiency and speed of reading information to identify the object, and in combination with active chips, the use of additional identification process functionality. The article deals with the application of this technology to the railway Industry 4.0 concept. According to realised research, our work is focused on the identification of the most frequently occurring defects in the components of the pressure brakes and the bearing chambers of the wheel set. Research is focused on the identification of the most frequently technical defects in the components of the pressure brakes and the bearing chambers of the wheel set. Using RFID technology it is possible to ensure the monitoring of the technical state of these selected elements.
