Kinetics of the sorption of strontium ions from model solutions on an inorganic sorbent based on titanium phosphate is studied. Experimental dependences describing the ion exchange kinetics are obtained that represent three exchange mechanisms: exchange on surfaces, ion diffusion into the bulk of the sorbent, and a heterogeneous ion exchange reaction to form a new phase. The internal diffusion coefficients, ion exchange rate constants, and apparent activation energies for internal and external diffusion are determined.
