Wrist denervation is a safe and effective procedure for the treatment of chronic wrist pain that can delay or eliminate the need for salvage or anatomically distorting procedure such as proximal row carpectomy. The traditional more extensive wrist denervation has evolved to procedures requiring fewer incisions. Efficacy of this procedure is corroborated by multiple publications either as a stand-alone procedure or as an adjunct to other procedures. This review provides an update on the status of wrist denervation.
