AN oxidative decyanation-amidation of beta-ketonitriles and primary amines readily occurs using hydrogen peroxide sodium carbonate adduct (Na2CO3 center dot 1.5H(2)O(2)), K2CO3, and 1,4-dioxane. This reaction affords alpha-ketoamides under mild conditions without the need of a catalyst.
