Heterostructure CeO2-SnO2 nanocomposite was synthesized via hydrothermal route. The morphology of the composites was studied by using SEM, FE-SEM and HR-TEM studies. FT-IR spectra were recorded to identify the functional groups of the nanocomposite. This novel heterostructure of CeO2-SnO2 nanocomposite exhibit excellent photocatalytic performance under UV-visible light irradiation, enabling the decomposition of organic dyes such as MB within 90 min, with desirable efficiency (91%) compared to pure CeO2 and SnO2 nanostructure. The excellent photocatalytic activity result of synthesized heterostructure shows that the CeO2-SnO2 nanocomposite can be applied as promising potential photocatalyst for the removal of pollutants from water sources.
