In this paper, a surface plasmon resonance sensor is presented to see the effect of BlueP/MoS2 heterostructure. The proposed sensor consists of a prism, a metal layer, a graphene layer, a BlueP/MoS2 heterostructure layer and a sensing medium. The performance parameters such as sensitivity, detection accuracy, and quality factor are analyzed. The study indicates that the proposed sensor design provides significantly higher sensitivity (i.e., 204 degrees/RIU) in comparison to the conventionally used SPR sensors (i.e.,190.66 degrees/RIU) as well as the graphene-based SPR sensors (i.e., 195.33 degrees/RIU). Further, the performance parameters of the sensor are discussed for several layers of graphene and BlueP/MoS2 heterostructure. It can be inferred from the obtained results that the proposed sensor will play a vital role in the world of sensing and will open a new way for the application of BlueP/MoS2 heterostructure in surface plasmon resonance-based sensors.
