Superhydrophobic surface has been applied for corrosion resistance and yield many innovations. However, most of the superhydrophobic surfaces are fragile and would lose its superhydrophobicity after abrasion. Herein, by using a micro-nano nickle coating as template, a super robust bi-layer superhydrophobic coating was fabricated via a facile method. This coating exhibited a large micro hardness and still showed superhydrophobicity even after abrasion for more than 100 cycles, which demonstrated a robust mechanical stability. Besides, it can repel harsh acid and alkali such as HCl, HNO3 and NaOH. More fundamentally, the corrosion current density of this coating is lower to 2.525 x 10(-8) A/cm(2), revealed a superior corrosion resistance. This method should be of great importance for guiding the fabrication of super hyrophobic surface for practical applications such as anti-icing, self-cleaning and anti-fouling. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V.
