A fluorescent sensor based on aggregation-induced emission(AIE) for Cu2+ in THF/H2O 1:9 has been designed and synthesized. Compound 3 and Cu2+ formed a 2 : 1 complex, the binding constant was calculated to be 4 x 109 M-2 and the detection limit was 1.5 mu M.
