In this study, Fe-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) nanocomposite MIL-53(Fe) was developed by a facile solvothermal method, and the effect of synthesis conditions on MIL-53(Fe) was investigated. The as-prepared materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared, scanning electron microscope (SEM), and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra. Rhodamine B used as a model pollutant to detect the photocatalytic activity of these materials. The best synthesis temperature of MIL-53(Fe) was 150 degrees C and the optimum ratio of FeCl3 center dot 6H(2)O and C8H6O4 was 1:2. SEM results showed that the relatively uniform morphology might be beneficial to the photocatalytic reaction. The results could further support exploitation of experimental conditions for the synthesis of MOFs materials with high catalytic performance. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
