The SEEP-SRB1 is a diverse Glade of sulfate reducing bacteria affiliated with the deltaproteobacterial family Desulfobacteraceae. Here we report the draft genome sequences of two single cells belonging to the SEEP-SRB1 Glade, isolated from marine sediment in Aarhus Bay, Denmark, by fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS). The draft genomes measure 2.12 Mb and 0.46 Mb, with GC contents of 45% and 42%. Phylogenetic placement of the 16S rRNA genes places the SAGs within the subgroups SEEP-SRB1e and SEEP-SRB1d. While these subgroups are thought to play a role in non-methane hydrocarbon degradation, there is little genomic information available to confirm their metabolic function. As such, these novel single-cell amplified genomes provide valuable insight into the metabolic potential of this prevalent subseafloor clade.
