The alpha-ene-diamido ligands (the reduced form of alpha-diimine) have been extensively studied as supporting ligands for s-, p- and f-block elements over the last several decades. They not only served as excellent ligands for the stabilization of low valent main group metal complexes but also acted as supporting ligands for a number of metal-catalyzed synthesis. Their diverse bonding modes and redox active properties have attracted a great deal attention and rendered them as one of the privilege ligands in coordination chemistry and catalysis. This review will cover the recent advances in the synthesis, structure, reactivity and catalytic application of ene-diamido s-, p- and f-block metal complexes. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V.
