In this study, inhibited effect of graphene oxide (GO) on calcium leaching of cement pastes exposed to deionized water for 14 and 28 days was investigated using combined advanced techniques of ICP-MS, XRD, TGA, MIP, and SEM. After leaching for 28 days, mass loss of calcium hydroxide decreased from 4.91% to 3.90% due to GO addition, while increment of total porosity mainly deriving from the increment of pores (1-5 mu m) reduced from 25.6% to 3.8%. Overall, GO addition can reduce calcium dissolution and refine the pore structure of leached pastes, therefore effectively mitigating calcium leaching of cement pastes. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd.
