Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4/BaFe12O19@polyaniline (NZFO/BFO@PANI) composites were synthesized by coprecipitation followed by in-situ polymerization. The products were characterized by SEM, XRD, FTIR, Raman and VNA. Results showed that PANI coating, exchange coupling behaviour and impedance matching characteristic had important effects on microwave absorption properties of the composite. The RL of a composite absorber with thickness of 3.5 mm reached a maximum value of - 25.6 dB. And the absorption bandwidth for RL < - 10 dB was 7.24 GHz in the frequency range from 7.12 to 14.36 GHz. The NZFO/BFO@PANI composites, as microwave absorbing materials, exhibited promising properties, which indicated a potential application in electromagnetic interference shielding.
