The H7N9 virus has caused five waves of human infections since 2013. However, human infections have almost disappeared in the past year. In a recent study, Shi et al. revealed that the usage of a bivalent H5/H7 vaccine successfully prevented chicken infections, and thus prevented, and nearly eliminated, human infections.
