Five different types of Ni surfaces were fabricated using electrodeposition method. To improve the surface superhydrophobicity, the freshly prepared Ni surfaces were dipped in stearic acid (ethanol) solution for chemical modification. The five types of Ni surfaces presented different superhydrophobic properties because of the difference in surface morphology. Such wettability property of Ni surfaces might shed light on the high-tech areas of self-cleaners, anticorrosion materials, anticontamination materials and so forth.
