High-surface-area (118 m(2)g (1)) microflower-like TiO2 (MF-TiO2), consisting of TiO2 nanopetals, is synthesized for the photoanode of a quasi-solid-state dye-sensitized solar cell (QSSDSSC). The QSSDSSC with the MF-TiO2 film scattering layer (SL) shows an efficiency (eta) of 5.30%, whereas its counterpart with a commercial SL shows an eta of 3.90%.
