A facile method for improving the photo current of the [60]PCBM ([6,6]-phenyl-C-61-butyric acid methyl ester)/P3HT (poly(3-hexylthiophene)) photodetector device is demonstrated, and 1.6 times enhancement of the on/off ratio of the device is obtained by using wavelength-matched photonic crystals as substrates.
