The propagation of chiral quarks in a nonperturbative background of D = 4 gluon condensates is investigated in the deconfined phase of QCD. It is shown that the propagating quark modes are atypical near T-c and a strong correlation exists between the melting of vacuum condensates and the emergence of familiar quasiquark spectrum. Furthermore, existence of damped modes with significant spectral weight are observed near T-c. The damped modes become insignificant to the spectrum at high temperature.
