For the first time, this article demonstrated that V2O5 nanowires served as a robust and efficient peroxidase mimic catalyst in luminol-based chemiluminescence reaction in aqueous media at high temperature. Over 90% of the maximum catalytic activity remained at 70 degrees C. Singlet oxygen was involved in the CL reaction catalysed by V2O5 nanowires, which was quite different from the traditional catalysts.
