The characterization and catalytic activity of a Ni/CeO2/ZrO2 catalyst for methane steam reforming at 600A degrees C were investigated. The addition of ceria increased the surface area and basicity of the catalysts. The redox reaction capability of the ceria increased the hydrogen yield and carbon monoxide selectivity, and inhibited carbon formation.
