Aim of Study: To investigate the effectiveness of Gamibokryungbanha-tang (GBBT), a traditional Korean medicine herbal formula on cancer-related nausea and vomiting. Materials and Methods: Two patients with non-small-cell lung cancer complained of nausea and vomiting, and treatment with metoclopramide was not effective. Brain metastasis was suspected as the main cause of nausea and vomiting for one patient, and increased dose of an opioid medication for the other patient. GBBT was administrated to both patients three times a day. Results: Both patients showed significant improvement in controlling nausea and vomiting and no adverse events were noted. Conclusions: We assume GBBT may be effective in controlling cancer-related nausea and vomiting, and our observation justifies further investigation. (C) 2009 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
