We report the preparation and performance of a novel luminescent material by pi-pi stacking, as well as hydrogen bond interactions, to deposit Eu3+ complexes on the surface of graphene oxide sheets (GOSs). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis were introduced to investigate its structure and properties. The as-prepared Eu3+-pyromellitic acid-1,10-phenanthroline/GOSs distinctly exhibits a long decay lifetime of 1.82 ms, strong luminescence intensity, and good thermal and photo stability. Moreover, the effect of the mass of GOSs on the performance of the material was also studied.
