A new coordination polymer [Co(Htci)(bpe)0.5]center dot H2O (1) [bpe = 1, 2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene, H3tci = tris(2-carboxyethyl)isocyanurate] was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, which reveals that 1 is a 3D pillar-layered structure.
