The preparation of Ag/Al2O3 catalysts by nonhydrolytic sol-gel process leads to highly efficient HC-deNOx materials thanks to the silver ability to diffuse toward the surface. The presence of niobium as co-catalyst, with a Nb content comprised between 1 and 3 wt%, enhances the NO reduction efficiency at low temperatures (< 250 A degrees C).
