Nanopowders of titanium oxide were prepared using hydrolysis of titanyl sulfate under hydrothermal conditions. The influence of the synthesis parameters on the micromorphology and functional characteristics of the resultant TiO2 was studied. The optimum conditions for the synthesis of powders with maximum photocatalytic activity were determined.
