An efficient and regioselective synthesis of 2-imino-1,3-selenazolidin-4-ones and 2-amino-1,3,4-selenadiazin-5-ones was achieved via one-pot reaction of isoselenocyanates, hydrazines, and ethyl chloroacetate or chloroacetyl chloride, respectively.
