The iridium-catalyzed allylic alkylation with azlactone and sequential aza-Cope rearrangement was demonstrated. The sequential reaction was effective in separating of diastereoisomers and afforded a diastereomerically pure azlactone derivative and oxazolinone derivative. (C) 2011 Elsevier Ltd.
